***"Who the hell does he think he is?" Ross demanded as soon as the Doctor had closed the door of the Tardis behind him. The young man had stomped up the three steps and was now standing by the console, arms crossed over his chest.
The Doctor sighed, shaking his head as he made his own way up the steps to stand beside his young lover. "Ross, don't get excited," he pleaded, reaching out to rest a hand on his companion's shoulder. "Jack didn't mean to belittle you."
"He practically told me that I was too young to be your companion!" Ross burst out, still seething with rage at the attitude that the leader of Torchwood had shown towards him. "And he did say that I was too young to be your lover!"
"Ross, he didn't say that where anyone else could hear him," the Doctor protested, obviously wanting the younger man to calm down before he did anything to take them away from Earth. "He only said it to me. And I don't think he meant it exactly like that."
"Yeah? Then how did he mean it?" Ross demanded, glaring at the Time Lord. "He told you that I was way younger than the 'ones you usually choose.' What the hell was that supposed to mean? It sounds like he wants to get back into your bed!"
"He probably does," the Doctor said, his tone defeated, letting his hand drop from Ross' shoulder. "If I know Jack, he's feeling more than a little jealousy now. But that's his problem. I've chosen to be with you, and he should know that I won't go back to him."
"No way are you going back to him," Ross said, a growl in his voice. He moved forward two steps, to slip his arms around the Time Lord's waist and pull the Doctor close against him, one hand moving down the other man's body to cup his ass.
"He's not going to touch you again," Ross ground out, his eyes not leaving the Doctor's face. "Jack had better get it through his head that you're mine, and that I'm not going to give him the chance to get close to you in a physical way again."
The Doctor's dark eyes had widened in surprise when Ross had pulled him close, but he didn't pull away or say anything to negate his young lover's words. Instead, he raised a hand to place it on Ross' cheek, his gaze not leaving his companion's face.
"I've never seen you this .... this forceful," he whispered, his voice filled with wonder. "Where did this come from, Ross? You should know that you don't have any reason to be jealous of Jack. What we had between us was over a long time ago."
"I know that," Ross growled, refusing to let go of his anger towards the immortal. "But he doesn't seem to realise that. He needs to know in no uncertain terms that you're mine, and that I'm not going to let you go. He doesn't have a chance with you any more. Not ever."
"Of course he doesn't," the Doctor said, his voice soft. "He might not like that idea -- Jack is the kind of person who likes to think that he's irresistible to everyone -- but I have no interest in him in a sexual way any more, Ross. He's nothing more to me now than a friend."
"He'd better remember that," Ross said, his tone beginning to sound calmer. Sighing, he raised his hands to either side of the Doctor's face, gazing into the Time Lord's eyes. "Forgive me for being so jealous and going a little crazy, please?"
"You know I do," the Doctor told him, leaning forward to brush his lips gently against the younger man's mouth. "I didn't expect that jealousy -- but I have to admit, it's a bit exciting to have such a gorgeous man willing to fight a former lover for my honour."
Ross laughed softly, pulling the Doctor's slim body more closely against his own. "I'd fight an army of any enemy you can think of for you," he murmured, brushing his lips across the Time Lord's cheek. "You're mine, Doctor. I'll never let you go."
"Nothing is ever going to take me away from you, Ross," the Doctor told him, his voice low and husky. "You're the one I want to be with -- and even though I can't spend the rest of my life with you, I'm sure that yours is going to spent right here where you belong."
"I shouldn't have been so hard on him, should I?" asked Ross with a laugh, his good humor restored. "But I'm not going to go back and apologise. I think it's better that he knows where he stands. And where you and I stand with each other."
"Somehow, I don't think that's something Jack is going to forget," the Doctor told him with a smile, moving to the console. Within seconds, the blue box had shimmered into thin air, heading for the next place in the galaxy that the Doctor and his young lover had decided to explore.
